Description
The 1602 LCD Display is a 16 characters × 2 lines alphanumeric liquid crystal display with a white background and black text (or white LED backlight, depending on variant). It is based on the HD44780 controller (or compatible IC), making it highly compatible with almost all microcontrollers including Arduino, ESP8266, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, PIC, and AVR.
It can operate in 4-bit or 8-bit parallel mode, and with an I2C adapter module, it requires only two pins (SDA & SCL) for communication, simplifying wiring. This display is widely used in electronics, DIY projects, industrial panels, and embedded systems for showing messages, sensor values, and menus.
